Scroll and Ossuary
Let’s talk about ancients!
Last weekend, one of the things we did during our Michigan weekend getaway was to check out the Horn Archaeological Museum in the campus of Andrews University. What’s so unique and neat about this museum is that the antiques in this archaeological place aren’t explained based on evolution but in Creation. Yes, being a Seventh-day Adventist institution, the displays in this museum were biblical. It was indeed so fascinating to see the real stuff from the Bible times, just like a scroll and an ossuary.
Here’s what I got from that tour:

The Torah Scroll it is as mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy 4:2. Amazing, eh?
And here’s an ossuary:

An ossuary is a chest, building, well, or site made to serve as the final resting place of human skeletal remains. They are frequently used where burial space is scarce. A body is first buried in a temporary grave, then after some years the skeletal remains are removed and placed in an ossuary. The greatly reduced space taken up by an ossuary means that it is possible to store the remains of many more people in a single tomb than if the original coffins were left as is.

I must say I was so in awe with that visit to the Horn Archaeological Museum. It was like journeying Jerusalem and most of the places in the Old Testament literally!
Triz found it so cool, too, to be able to see the real glimpses of what she only read from the Bible. Yes, it was a cool visit for us indeed!
A Dressmaker
My mother is a dressmaker. I remember when I was young, she would make my lovely dresses and my siblings’, too. My mother-in-law is also one. When I first went to their house when the husband and I were still dating, MIL was on the sewing machine making curtains. Yes, am surrounded with people who know how to sew. However, I grew up NOT knowing how to do it. Lol.
I only hand sew the stuff that needs to be fixed but never used a sewing machine. So I thought of rewarding myself with a sewing machine– a small and portable one as a start.

I figured it isn’t too late to learn new things, right? Besides, I’ve gotten a really good deal on this one, after it was advertised to me for 80% off. So I dare not missed it!

And besides still, my mother-in-law will be coming over in the summer before I give birth, so she could make use of this when she wants to.
Let’s see if I have the time to learn using this one! May be I’ll start with rugs and wipes! Lol.
